Scope of practice

Know what kind of support you are choosing.

Kinship Renewal is a parent-led educational consultation. It gives you space to describe what is happening at home, look at a repeating pattern, and consider practical next steps.

Parent-led Online consultation Clear boundaries
What it is

A place to slow the situation down and make sense of it.

You do not have to arrive with the right label or a perfect explanation. We start with your observations and your questions.

Parent-led consultation

You can attend without your child. Your perspective, concerns, and goals guide the conversation.

Pattern mapping

Together, we may look at what tends to happen before, during, and after a difficult moment.

Practical reflection

You leave with clearer questions and possible next steps to consider at home or with another professional.

What a session may include

A grounded conversation about real family life.

The focus is on understanding the situation well enough to make a thoughtful next choice - not on forcing a label or promising a result.

What you are noticing. We may discuss behavior, emotions, conflict, routines, communication, or moments that feel especially hard.
What keeps repeating. We may map the sequence around a concern so it is easier to see where you have choices.
What you want to change. We clarify what “better” would look like for your family in everyday life.
What support fits next. That may be continued consultation, a practical experiment, or a referral to a qualified provider.
What it is not

Clear boundaries are part of responsible support.

Kinship Renewal is not psychotherapy, family therapy, medical care, developmental evaluation, or emergency care. It is not a diagnosis and it does not prescribe medication.

It does not diagnose or treat a mental-health, medical, developmental, or behavioral condition. It does not replace a qualified professional who is already providing care.

No particular outcome is promised. What helps one family may not be right for another.

When another kind of care may be needed

You deserve the right level of support for the situation.

A clarity call can help you decide what to explore, but it is not an assessment for urgent or complex clinical needs.

Immediate danger

If someone may harm themselves or someone else, seek emergency help now.

Diagnosis or evaluation

Contact a qualified medical, developmental, or mental-health professional for an evaluation.

Ongoing treatment

Continue working with the clinician who manages diagnosis, medication, or active treatment.

Urgent support

Use a local crisis or emergency service when waiting for a reply would not be safe.

Can this be used alongside other care?

It may be considered alongside qualified care when that is appropriate for your family. Do not stop, start, or change medication or treatment based on this website. Share relevant information with your treating providers so your support stays coordinated.

Crisis and emergency help

This page and this service are not monitored for emergencies.

If someone is in immediate danger, may harm themselves or someone else, or needs urgent medical care, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.

For urgent mental-health support, contact a qualified crisis or emergency service in your area. Do not wait for an email, form submission, or call back from Kinship Renewal.
